My weekend was alright.
There was drama, and honestly I am getting tired of it. Family drama is the worst too, because lets face it they are family, they will always be there in your life so it is harder to get away from it. But, I know in my heart I did the right thing and I have my support team backing me up. As hard as it is for me to admit it, I don't need them in my life. I want them in my life but I don't see that happening anytime soon. So, they are out, Plain and simple. I actually feel good about this "Break up". Ha. Anyway.
Got to talk to my Brother a lot this weekend, which was nice. He is doing a lot better and is sounding like his old self again.
Hubs and I are spending a lot more time together. He has been on the morning shift lately which means hubs and I can actually eat dinner together, watch our stories and go to bed. It's the little things that make me happy. We aren't the most lovey dovey, romantic, want to punch in the face because we are sooooo stinkin cute couple. But in the words of Juno McGuff - he is the cheese to my macaroni.
We made breakfast together on Sunday, uh.. P.S. the weather was AMAZING!!!! So we jammed to some classic rock while he made waffles and I made eggs and bacon. It was my perfect Sunday. We ran a few errands, and I waited for the Oscars to start. I. Love. The. Oscars. I love everything about the glitz and glamour, I wish that I could get that gussied up for something. Too bad the only thing that I have fancy enough for that is my wedding dress.
I realized this weekend also, how much I love Chuck Norris jokes. I mean Mr. Norris if you are reading this, let me correct myself, Chuck Norris facts. I really don't want to be roundhouse kicked in the face.... that would make Mondays even worse.

Fri to the DAY!!!!
My mood in pictures:
This Morning:

Back away from me, I will lash out at you.

someone said I looked "special" for wearing my hat... and I am 110% sure they meant short bus special not wow Mrs. G you are totally the cat's meow special.

For anyone who doesn't understand the awesomeness that is my hat... you are now lame. LAME!

Then I remembered it was Friday!!!! I am not sure how I forgot. But, I did.
As you can see it is been an emotional roller coaster this morning. I need a nap.

turtle, turtle, turtle
My friend was reading my blog yesterday and thought it was pretty funny that I had worn a turtleneck all week, so she challenged me to keep it going. I don't back away from a challenge so naturally....
I am keeping it real... turtleneck style.
Well kids, today is my meeting with the academic advisers at CSCC to try to schedule my classes, make a plan for my educational career while I am there, and get my financial aid worked out.
Wish me luck!!!

I can't make this up...
so I took pictures to prove this story.
What story you ask? The story of the missing bowl
The story starts with our Heroine Mrs. G hear some commotion out in the kitchen. She knows it is her pup in distress so she does what any mother would do. She leaves her feast of frosted flakes and investigates what could be causing her fur baby stress. As Mrs. G rounds the corner of her sofa and is walking towards the scene she stops and sees this:

"That's strange." She says
"I wonder where Dot's bowl went?"
Mrs. G turns to see an oddity in her hallway

"Well, that's not how I left it... Maybe the bowl is under the carpet!!"

"Nope."
The mystery still remained

"well, I don't know where her bowl is, but I better put the runner back and pick up hubs' boot"
As Mrs. G is tiding up Dot's mess she hears something
rattle rattle rattle
"where is that sound coming from?"
She listens more closely and realizes it is coming from Mr.G's Boot

"Is that?"

"WTF!?!?!?!"
Mrs.G exclaimed!

"It was in the boot. Well now I don't feel as stupid, I would have never of thought to look in the boot."
Mrs. G takes the boot and dumps it contents back in to her pups bowl

"Huzah!!!!!" Dot barked as I set her bowl of pedigree goodness down.

FIN.

Review
In reviewing my last few posts I have realized that my life has revolved around a sofa. I am not going to mention said sofa (except for this little bit) again. And I will not tell you if we did in fact purchase the sofa last night, and now have to wait 3 weeks for it to come in.

I am going to try to go tonight without t.v. I know, I am pretty pumped about the challenge too. There is just so much stuff that needs to get down around mi casa that having the boob tube on will distract me from. Yes, I am one of those people. I get hypnotised by the alluring blue light, and slight but ever present hum of the television. But not tonight! I am going to be Strong, I am going to kick some butt, all to the jams on my ipod.
Maybe I will take some before and after shots... then again I really don't want the Internet world to see our slobbers.
enough about cleaning.
I just now noticed that I am wearing an orange turtleneck (third turtle neck this week), and Kelly green socks, that you can see mind you. I bet you only wish you were as fashion forward as I am. It will come in time.
I have had this sweater for years and it is by far my favorite. It is everything I love wrapped in to one. 1. it is a sweater, ask any of my friends and they will agree that the sweater is a favorite, if not THE favorite clothing staple I have in my closet. 2. it is a turtle neck. 3. it is orange. And lastly I can sit like this...

Yes, in all actuality I sit like this all the time.
Add those up and you get my favorite sweater.
As for the crazy picture... well, I am hoping you get a laugh out of it.
Happy hump day Bloggies.

Sofa King Awesome!
Alright. Last night my mother in law made me the happiest girl this side of the Missip(pronounced Miss sip), as my Grandma would say.

She informed hubs and I that she will be footing the bill for our sofa!!!! I can't tell you how happy that makes me. We were so worried about what to do, our sofa is getting worse, I mean you just look at it and something else snaps inside of it. If it was a horse I'd a shot it.
Hubs and I are going to make our selection tonight so hopefully we can have it by the weekend.
And now a little work story for you.

We all have that one co-worker, you know the one I am talking about. The one that is really good person but like everyother human has their, well to put it politely, quirks. This guy. The guy that sits behind me at work, is one of those co-workers.
My other "Pod" mate brings the paper in, and she always gives quirky guy the comics. Now, because we are in our slow season here at work I usually have a book with me and at this point in the morning am enthralled in my story. Then out of nowhere he will be standing right next to me, shoving the funnies in my face (seriously invading my personal space) and telling me I have to read this one, it is so funny. sigh....
Is it wrong that I feel obligated to laugh?
I mean he is standing about 2 feet from me and is looking at me waiting for me to find the hilarity in family circus. I will let out a forced "Heh." and that is that. But I wait for it every morning. The affront to my personal space, the awkward slice as I read, the desperate look in his eyes as I finish...
One word for you my dear readers.
Awkward.

Case of the Mondays

this is me today. I have a serious case of the Mondays.
This past year I have become in a rut with my work. I am so very grateful to be employed, let me get that out there but after being here for 4 years (this August) I am left wanting more. Hopefully I will find that with school, I am hoping that it lights the spark in me, the little Mrs. G spark that used to burn so bright that I had to wear shades.
Biggest pet peeve at work right now:
Mrs G: Thank you for calling the company you wanted to call, this is Mrs. G how can I help you?
Caller: Hi Mrs.G How are you?
Mrs.G: I am fi-
Caller proceeds to cut me off and talk over me.
Why ask? Why ask how I am doing if you aren't going to let me tell you!?!?!?! I have gotten to the point where I talk over them and answer their question.
I know they are being nice, but how about you save the nice and tell me what you want.
Good news is my MK will be here today!!!!!!!!!!!! After our March meeting I am going to turn my bathroom in to a spa and pamper myself with a facial, mani and pedi.
