Welcome!

My photo
Welcome! My name is Mrs.G and I started this blog so people could share in my mis-adventures in wedding planning. I married my southern gentleman on September 6th, 2009. Throughout our courtship I became enamored with everything southern and desperately want to become a steel magnolia.

Announcement

I have an announcement.

Well 5 little announcements.

I am going to be a Grandma.

Yes, 25 is a bit young to be called Grandma so maybe I will go with something more glamorous like Glamma or Nona or something trendy like that.

Dot went in to heat early February and I want it to be known that on my HUSBAND'S watch not mine did she and Cooper get it on.

I got a hysterical call from Husband about how they were stuck, butt to butt.

This call was extremely hilarious.

Like I almost peed  my pants laughing at how freaked out Husband was, I told him he just had to ride it out (no pun intended) because taking them apart could be harmful to her.

So he called about 15 minutes later said the deed was done and I made a joke about how are teenage daughter would never EVER be allowed to be under the same roof as male friend while under his supervision. Cause he will be gone for "10 minutes" and boom she will be preggers.

Fast Forward to today.

We called the vet last night because for several days she was constantly shaking while she way laying down and she was becoming uncomfortable.

I took her in and told them what was wrong and told them, oh by the way she maybe pregnant. The vet did her initial exam and she couldn't find any thing physically wrong with her. She did say that her mammary glands were enlarged and she was "practically certain" she was pregnant.  I decided to fork over the cash and get an ultrasound done so we would know today if she was or wasn't.

I knew the moment she hesitated to go with the vet tech that she was pregnant. They say that dogs experience behavioral changes that is one of the first signs. My dog, when ever she is around new people thinks I am chopped liver and will go to them no questions asked. Today she wouldn't leave my side, I had to walk her down to the scale, she was almost plastered to my leg and her tail was firmly between her legs, same thing happened when the doctor came to take her back for her ultra sound.

My bestie Erin and I went to lunch and headed back and when the doctor came out she confirmed what I already, put refused to acknowledge, my little baby was indeed with pups.

Gestation for dogs is 63 days, she is on day 26 so I have a little over a month to prepare and get ready for our new additions, they predicted 5 but because we found out so early there could be more.

Week Four (Days 22-28)
DEVELOPMENT OF THE PUPPIES
+ Development of eyes and spinal cords
+ Faces take shape
+ Fetuses grow from 5-10 mm to 14-15 mm
+ Organogenesis begins-- Embryos are at their most susceptible to defects
+ Days 26 - 32 are the best days to palpitate (i.e.. feel for the puppies)
