My photo
Welcome! My name is Mrs.G and I started this blog so people could share in my mis-adventures in wedding planning. I married my southern gentleman on September 6th, 2009. Throughout our courtship I became enamored with everything southern and desperately want to become a steel magnolia.

Green sweater

Today as I got ready for my day I knew exactly what I was going to wear.

There was no standing and staring aimlessly at a wall of assembled fabric, it was probably a day that should have been recorded, I was ready in less than 15 minutes make up on and all.

I knew I was going to wear a green sweater, a Kelly green, cable knit, v neck sweater.

I found it only fitting for this momentous day.

I have had this sweater for years, 6 to be exact, I got it one day on a whim while I was working at Old Navy and I wore it on August 21, 2006 when I interviewed for my first "big girl" job.

I wore it today, on my last day at said "big girl" job. I no longer have a company email, my own direct line, business cards or a key car annoyingly taking up room on my key chain. I turned it all in today and clocked out for the last time.

I know I complained about this job but at the same time this job built up my self esteem in the work place, I was given projects, put in charge of product lines and did the job well.

So today I took it all in, my last day I went to Tim Hortons this morning for my morning iced capp, ate lunch in the lunch room, finished a spread sheet and then it was over.

I couldn't stop smiling but at the same time I was aching, this place really was my home away from home. I despised this home away from home most of the time but I spent a lot of time at this place and with these people, didn't like some of them but we worked together as a team, mostly until the end.

I clocked out and took one last awkward desk pic (case and point, the pic posted with this, I did this to entertain myself during the slow period) at my empty desk and gathered my things. I said good bye to my office friends and walked out the door, in to the warmth of the day.

I did it without crying, because although I was aching, the warmth from the sun filled me with the knowledge that this is absolutely, positively, without question the right thing to do.

Once I crossed that line, out of the building I could feel the new, crisp page turning in my book.

A new chapter has been started.

My studious life begins
